David Attenborough's Natural History Museum Alive

It's impossible not to love David Attenborough. His husky voice, undeniable enthusiasm and grandfatherly impression. For a man of 87, he is still totally 'with it' and producing incredible TV shows. What a legend.

Natural History Museum Alive aired on New Years Day on Sky 1, and displayed the antics of extinct animals and creatures exhibited at London's Natural History Museum using impressive special effects.

Attenborough was on top form too, 'interacting' with the newly resurrected animals to produce some really interesting moments, including a tense meeting with a gigantopithecus ('giant ape').

He flirted with Dodo's and watched over giant sloths as they burrowed, before surviving a stalking from the fearsome sabre-tooth tiger.

Easily my favourite part of the show was the bringing to life of the biggest skeleton at the Museum - The Diplodocus.

Whether in Africa or Antarctica, Attenborough continues to produce compelling, entertaining shows. This man is a true British icon.

Lesson of the day - Dodo's were related to pigeons (you learn something new every day)

Favourite Dinosaur - Diplodocus - go big or go home!
